Policies & terms

Version 1.1 — last updated August 2026. The terms below govern your use of the Artist Protection Registry.

End User License Agreement (EULA)

This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) governs your use of the Artist Protection Registry (“APR”). By creating an account or using the service you accept this agreement in full.

APR grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the platform to register, timestamp, and store records of creative works. You retain ownership of the works you register.

APR is an evidentiary registration service. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and use of APR does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Liability, Venue, Arbitration & Class Action Waiver

Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, APR, its owners, officers, employees, and contractors cannot be sued for damages arising from use of the service. APR’s total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to APR in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. APR is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost licensing revenue, or loss of legal rights.

No responsibility for legal outcomes. APR is not responsible for legal outcomes, the acts or omissions of attorneys, court or tribunal decisions, copyright office determinations, or the admissibility or evidentiary weight given to any APR record in any proceeding.

Mandatory binding arbitration. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this agreement or the service shall be resolved exclusively by final and binding arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in Montgomery County, Texas, by a single arbitrator. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Governing law and venue. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. For any matter not subject to arbitration, exclusive venue and jurisdiction lie in the state and federal courts located in Montgomery County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Class action waiver. You and APR agree that claims may be brought only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims or preside over any form of representative proceeding.

Indemnification. You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless APR and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, liabilities, penalties, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the service; (b) content or works you register or upload; (c) your violation of this agreement or applicable law; or (d) any dispute between you and a third party, including any copyright, trademark, or ownership dispute.

Credit System & Abuse Guardrails

No expiration. APR has no plans, tiers, or subscriptions. Purchased credits stay on your account and do not expire, roll over, or reset on any billing cycle.

Non-refundable credits. Credits are non-refundable once used. Purchased credits are non-refundable except where required by law.

Attorney Evidence Reports. Attorney Evidence Reports are non-refundable once generated. Once the report has been produced, the credits spent on it cannot be returned, transferred, or re-credited for any reason, including dissatisfaction with the outcome of a legal matter.

Discounted credit packs. Larger credit packs are offered at a discounted per-credit price. Pack pricing is shown at checkout and applies to that purchase only.

Abuse guardrails. APR may limit bulk or automated credit purchasing, throttle unusual activity, and cap the number of reports generated in a period.

Suspension. APR may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts for abuse, fraud, chargeback activity, credential sharing, misrepresentation of authorship, automated scraping, or any attempt to circumvent credit or rate limits. Credits associated with a suspended or fraudulent account are forfeited.

Terms of Use

By using the Artist Protection Registry (APR), you agree to these Terms of Use. APR is provided as an evidentiary registration service for creative works. APR does not provide legal advice and is not a substitute for legal counsel.

You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you submit and for ensuring you have the right to register the materials you upload. Misrepresenting authorship or registering material you do not own or represent is grounds for account termination.

APR may modify these terms as the service evolves. Continued use after an update, including re-acceptance where required, constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Refund Policy for Credits & Reports

Credits are non-refundable once used. Unused purchased credits are non-refundable except where required by law.

Attorney Evidence Reports are non-refundable once generated, regardless of how the report is used or the outcome of any legal matter.

APR bills only for one-time credit purchases. There are no subscriptions or recurring fees to cancel.

Prohibited Uses & Abuse Prevention

You may not register works you do not own or have authority to represent, upload unlawful content, impersonate another person or entity, or misuse APR records to make false claims.

You may not share credentials, resell access, script or automate the service without written permission, attempt to bypass credit or rate limits, exploit trial or promotional pricing, or initiate fraudulent chargebacks.

APR enforces caps, throttles, and monitoring to prevent abuse, and may suspend or terminate accounts, forfeit credits, and report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities.

Texas Governing Law & Montgomery County Venue

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Exclusive venue and jurisdiction for any matter not subject to arbitration lie in the state and federal courts located in Montgomery County, Texas. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts and waive any objection based on forum or venue.

Arbitration & Class Action Waiver

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be resolved by final and binding arbitration in Montgomery County, Texas, before a single arbitrator, administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

You and APR waive the right to a trial by jury and the right to participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. Claims may only be brought individually.

You agree to indemnify and hold APR harmless from claims arising out of your use of the service, the works you register, your violation of these terms, or any dispute with a third party.

Credit Policy

One credit registers one work. Attorney Evidence Reports cost two credits. Credit costs are displayed before any action that spends credits.

Credits never expire. There are no plans, tiers, or billing cycles — your balance stays until you spend it.

Credits are non-refundable once used, and Attorney Evidence Reports are non-refundable once generated. Larger credit packs are offered at a discounted per-credit price.

Abuse Prevention Policy

APR applies caps and limits on registrations, uploads, credit purchases, plan downgrades, and Attorney Evidence Report requests to protect the integrity of the registry.

Automated access, credential sharing, resale of access, and attempts to circumvent limits are prohibited.

APR may suspend or terminate accounts for abuse or fraud, and credits associated with abusive or fraudulent accounts are forfeited.

Privacy Notice

APR collects only the information needed to operate the service: account details, plan and acceptance records, registration metadata, uploaded files, and payment information processed by our payment partner.

Your registrations are private by default. APR does not sell personal data. We share information only with service providers required to operate the platform, or where compelled by valid legal process.

You may request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting support. Some records — including registration timestamps, certificate hashes, and legal acceptance logs — are retained for evidentiary and compliance integrity.

Attorney Evidence Report Terms

An Attorney Evidence Report is a documentary package summarizing the registration record for a work. It costs two credits and is non-refundable once generated.

The report is prepared from data already in the registry. APR does not investigate claims, provide legal analysis, or advocate on your behalf, and delivery of a report does not create an attorney-client relationship.

APR does not interact with attorneys, firms, courts, or other third parties beyond delivering the report through a secure access link. Any further involvement must be separately requested, approved, contracted, and paid in full upfront.

You must have accepted the current EULA and Terms of Use before a report can be generated.

Disclaimer

APR provides a tamper-evident record of when a work existed and who claimed authorship at the time of registration. This is evidentiary documentation, not a substitute for formal copyright registration with a national copyright office.

APR makes no guarantee about the legal outcome of any dispute. The strength of an APR record depends on the surrounding facts and the jurisdiction in which it is presented.

Use of APR does not create an attorney-client relationship. For legal advice specific to your situation, consult a qualified attorney.

Intellectual Property Policy

You retain all ownership of the works you register with APR. By registering, you grant APR a limited license to store, hash, timestamp, and display your registration metadata to you and your authorized collaborators.

APR will respond to credible claims of infringement and to validly issued takedown notices in accordance with applicable law. False or bad-faith claims may result in account termination.

If you believe a registration on APR infringes your rights, contact support with the relevant certificate number and a description of the alleged infringement.
